Marker #71 on Burt Lake, starts the entrance to Crooked River in Poverty Bay. The water averages 5 to 7 feet though out the flats that cover this bay and off the main channel on either side, is a good place to find some perch early in the season. Pike also frequent the weedy areas on the north side of the channel. Try jigging a large minnow quickly across the weedy bottom. Use a steel leader and hold on! This area also offers rainbow trout action in spring and fall. Walleye, trout, pike, perch and smallmouth bass are always a good bet here. Beautiful boating anytime!
