The Wolverine Village Park sits along side the banks of the
Sturgeon River. There is a large grassy picnic area
with grills, tables, shelter, water, vault toilets, and a large playground for the kids.
This is a nice spot for a family picnic with stores and restaurant
just a short walk.

The old rail road depot next to the park, shown bottom left,
is a registered Michigan Historic Site.
The depot is now the home of Henley's Canoe & Kayak rentals and the best place
to plan your trip down the Sturgeon River. In winter the Indian River to Gaylord
snowmobile trail runs past the depot and follows the old rail road grade along
the river for some spectacular views.
