The Lower Tahquamenon Falls, in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, is a series of five smaller falls cascading around an island. Although not as dramatic as the Upper Falls, they are equally magnificent. The falls can be viewed from the river bank or from an island which you can reach by a rowboat rented from the park. The island walkway affords a good view of the falls in the south channel shown in the top left photo.
Tahquamenon Falls is open to visitors all seasons. From the abundant flowage of spring runoff, the bright days of summer, the brilliant colors of fall, and the spectacular ice sculpturing of the Falls in the cold winter months. Cross Country Ski and hiking trails are also here for you year-round.
