Maple River
Snowmobile Bridge

Next to US-31 the
snowmobile trail runs over the Maple River
on an old R&R bridge. There is a place to park right
off the highway in the shade. The photo to the left
shows an old logging bridge no longer in use. The area
up-stream from here is one of the best for rainbows
in this river. The further you walk up, the better.

Here is the view under the bridge where
it remains in shadow all the time. I like to stay way
up-stream and float my offering in.
You can find some nice fish enjoying the dark
if your quiet. A hundred yards down stream from here is
the US-31 bridge where you can try the very same thing.
Remember to stay low and always stay as far off from your
target as you can. Trout are very spooky and have a great
sense of smell. They know when you put you hand in the water
way down stream.
