There is weir where the Brevort River meets the lake. The weir helps control the lake level. It also acts as a bridge for the North Country trail that runs along the south shore.

There is a large point just west of Brevort River. Off the point's north shore there's a very steep drop from 3 to 20 foot on the underwater edge, sonar right. This drop is a good area to work for bass, walleye, pike and panfish.
