About one o'clock I returned to the houseboat to find Neila up from her nap
and the party around us going full tilt. We made some lunch and watched the
different types of watercraft scurry about. There were about 50 boats on or around
the sand bar and kids of all ages engaged in keeping cool and having have.
One of Windjammers new 30 foot houseboats with the slide on back pulled in close by.
It was a nice looking unite and I'm sure a lot easier to handle for most.
Although not as roomy as the 4o footer it had a gas grill up front and a built in microwave
we did not. I use charcoal anyway and I liked having the hot water and heat.
Around two o'clock Todd and Dawn stopped by in a little bass
buggy pulling their two daughters in a raft behind. We all climbed up on the sun deck
to watch the show going on around us as the girls danced to the music coming
from the 160 watt CD player in my boat. Neila said it was a bit loud but when I turnned it down
the boats around me booed and requested that I return it to blasting. That was
the mood all around us that day, everyone letting it all out releasing the pressure
built up from the daily grind. We even did a little dancing ourselves that day.
