Michigan Fishing Tips River Rig using 3 way and split-shot

The rig shown here works well in rocky rivers with fast current. I use this set-up for steelhead when using spawn in the current. Like 4 to 6 pound line for a leader and 8 to 10 pound test on the reel. I also use a floating bead on the top of the hook instead for in the spawn bag to keep the bait up off the bottom. Use a lighter line to hold the split-shot than you have on your reel. That way if the weight does snag up the line will break before you lose your rig. I tie up a few like the photo before I go, it saves time on the river.
