ATV Trail Riding From Watersmeet in Michigan's Western U.P. 2008By DMG
Pg. 2
We rolled into Marenisco stopping for fuel around noon. Trial 2 ends here in town but a new trial north around the west side of Lake Gogebic
was due to open this spring and we wanted to check out the route. First things first, so after checking out the old steam pump
in the park we stopped down town for lunch. Check out the video to the right for a look at riding trail 2
in and around Marenisco. It was a nice easy smooth ride on the old rail road grade. Nice for
taking in the wonderful views of the northern morning. We talked over lunch and planed or next route north
around Lake Gogebic. County roads and parts of the snowmobile trail would take us up.
After first taking a few two tracks that did not end so well,
we headed north on County Road 523 past
Yondota Falls.
Further north it turns into Ethelwood Grade which took us over M-28. We worked our way east
stopping in Bergland for gas and a snack before heading down the east side of Lake Gogebic
back to trail 2. We arrived back just about 6 o'clock and stopped in for dinner at the Cisco Lake Bar & Grill.
Looked like the deer where also digging in. Back at the cabin with a little over
200 miles behind us it was a good first ride for the rookie!
