I just received an email from our MSA contact John Houk. This is regarding the trail between Gaylord and Cheboygan, the section that was opened two years ago as a trial for two years. Well the two years is just about up and we need to have as many people as possible send emails to the DNR telling them things like how many times/how often you have ridden the trail over the last two years. Tell them where you came from where you stay, eat on your visit etc. How much you like riding this trail and how it has opened up new areas for you to ride. We need to let the DNR know that we, all the snowmobilers that have ridden this trail we want it to continue to be open. It's really important that we send emails. Those of you who come from outside the state of Michigan, you folks need to send emails as well... those outside the state tourism dollars speak louder than the residents of the state of Michigan. There have been complaints about snowmobilers from a handful of residents that have places along the trail, the LAW enforcment have noted only a handful of violations for curfew and speeding (this is a good thing). Now the email address and contact that John Houk gave me is: Robin Pearson - pearsorg@michigan.gov If you want to send a written letter: send to Robin Pearson; Michigan Department of Natural Resources; Gaylord Operations Service Center; 1732 West M-32; Gaylord, MI 49735. If I get anymore information I will pass it along. Again... please send Ms Pearson emails we need to get their attention. So GET TYPING!
