About the sleds. The MXZ Renegade, both the 800 and 600, handled very well
on the trail and we all agreed the most comfortable to ride. Gas mileage was around
16-17 mpg average, mixing on and off trail riding. I figure that would go up a couple
mpg as they loosen after a few more miles. They also handled very well in the deep snow.
My only complaint is the shape of the nose would throw the snow up over the windshield
in deep snow at lower speeds. With the electronic reverse I would recommend it
to anyone looking for an all-around sled that handles the deep snow very well and
has the comfort and mileage you need on the trail. Personally I like the fuel injection
of the 600 with no choke and just a bit easer on fuel. The 600 had plenty of zip
for my taste. The 800 is definitely hot and with no weight difference ran just as
well on and off trail.
The Crossfire 7 Sno Pro is one of the best off-trail sleds I've ever ridden.
I don't think you buy a better thrill ride for the dollar. The fuel injected 700
always started easy and had no trouble running even with the 800's out there.
It was very nimble in the powder with almost no snow coming over the windshield,
even at slow speeds, due to the higher stance and wide hood design. The large
digital gauge was easy to read at all times. You can hit 100 on hard packed snow
and it will hold in the 80's through the deepest powder. I found it very comfortable
to stand and ride taking very little effort to lean it into corners. This is a sled I
was not afraid to go anywhere off trail with. Although it stuck like glue on the trails
with the 12 mpg and no reverse it would not be my first choice for trail riding.
If your looking for an off trail toy, then this is the total package!
Till next time, have fun, be safe, DMG
