Snowmobiling From The Cisco Chain of Lakes

Trail 2, shown right, follows a railroad grade and is a nice flat cruise
most of the time. Today, although a bit lose on top, the trail was again flat
and solid underneath. We stopped to take in a few views and photos of each other
taking in the views along the way.
About 6 miles northeast of Watersmeet
trail 107
took us north on a beautifully winding trail crossed only by old logging
roads just made for exploring. It was crisp, clear, and the snow was just right
to hold your attention as the sunlight played through the trees. Long shadows
and bright sparkles in the snow added to the cold stark mood that was the landscape.
At the intersection of trail 150
a turn to the left and we headed west then north past the Bond Falls Flowage.
The guys wanted to stop and see
Bond Falls
so we took a little side trip and a short hike for a look see.
Most of the guys made their way to the bottom for a full view. Having seen the falls
many times I waited up top. Leaving Bond Falls we headed north on 3 up to trail 8
and a mile east to overlook Agate Falls.
From there we headed west on 8 to Bruce Crossing for gas, food and to watch
the NCF Championship game at the Alaskan Connection. After the Eagles had won the game
we took trail 8 to Bergland and rode Lake Gogebic south to the
boat ramp on the east shore where we got off onto trail 13
and headed back to the cabin.
