Snowmobiling From The Cisco Chain of Lakes

Thursday morning I was up before the sun with the temperature
at -32°, it was cold and very quiet. A slight fog lay low around
the swamp lands and river beds. I was setting up a photo when it sounded
like dynamite going off while the ice shook. It woke me up! The extreme
cold was making ice big time. It was a glorious morning, not a whisper could be
heard as the full moon hung over a purple horizon. Small fury's scurried about the
frozen shoreline as I slowly moved around the lakes. It's times like this you really
appreciate the quite 4-stroke. I cut fresh tracks as I moved around the old trees
that line the channels and small islands along the way.
I made my way down to where Spring Creek
runs into Mamie Lake
and stopped to watch the sunrise slowly wash over the bay. I really enjoyed riding
from the area. There were so many different rides you can take right from your cabin.
Lakes, rivers, two tracks, groomed trails and powerline breaks to name a few.
The sites along the way, the wildlife, and the ease of access to all of it made
this a trip to remember. Also the guys in our group were great to ride with and
everyone had a good time on this trip. We all agreed it was a place to come back to.
Just after sun up I started coffee and a big breakfast to get the guys ready
for our last ride of the trip. Andy, the grounds manager at Vacationland Resort,
was going to show us some back country powder and power line trails today.
