December 20, 2024: Cold Weekend
The recent days of warmer temps and a bit of rain melted a lot of snow.
Now the temps have dropped with teens for highs this weekend helping to freeze the ground and wet areas.
We did pick up 3-6 inches of new snow which will not be enough in the lower but will make a difference in the U.P. where
they still have a base north of M-28 and the far western area. In those areas there will be some decent riding
this weekend. As far as the lower goes you can find some ridable spots the snowbelt areas but it's icy and thin in and mostly on back two tracks.
We have another warm up starting Christmas day and lasting through next weekend don't expect conditions to hold up
after the weekend. I plan on a guided ORV ride for next Saturday due to the conditions expected.
