Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore Mosquito River N46° 31.57' W86° 29.66' Alger Co. MI.   Just south of Pictured Rocks and Grand Portal Point is the Mosquito River, beach and campground. This beach is assessable by land with about a mile and a half hike from the trail that starts at the end of CR 635, off of Chapel Road. There are stairs that take you down to a large sandy beach were you can enter Lake Superior with a kayak or canoe.
