ATV Trail Ride From Crystal Falls Through Iron County 2007

My riding buddy Duane arrived 7:30 Tuesday and by 8:30 we were on the
Chippewa Trail headed west. I took a quick detour about a mile north
of the trail to show Duane the Chicago Falls.
It is a small but intriguing falls. Leaving the falls
and headed south the trail bridge at Chicagon Mine Road was closed.
We had to take a short detour onto Andreski Road to where it meets the trail
a few hundred yards southeast. Just after getting back on the trail
we came across a large tree down blocking the route. Using the wenches
we managed to move it far enough to squeeze by.
Most of the trail in the area follows an old rail road grade. Other
than a few puddles most of the trail was fairly smooth, hard and
relatively dust free. We rode the trail west until we reached the Northwestern Rec.
Trail just south of Iron River. Today we would take the southern route.
Eventually this would give us a 60 mile loop back up to Crystal falls.
This part of the trail runs fairy straight and was easy to ride while enjoying the view.
The machines were running smooth and the weather was just right for a comfortable ride.
