Monday Morning, July 4th, started out at daybreak with some of natures
fireworks. Numerous lighting strikes lit up the dim surroundings as
sheets of rain pounded the water. While well protected we had a great
view of it all from the front deck. Everything out side got a good rinse
, which my boat really needed, while we felt dry and cozy sipping our
morning coffee watching the show. It lasted only about a half hour and things
calmed down to a whisper after the storm. After breakfast Kevin pull anchors
and we moved over to the Maple Bay Beach, shown top.
We spent the day eating and relaxing on the houseboat while Megan and Casey
played on the beach and in the water. Megan had caught a crayfish she kept in
a dish while looking for minnows to add to her collection. She also took her first
ride on the viper! Casey was in dog heaven retrieving her ball from the waves and
proudly returning with her prize. With temps in the mid-seventies it was a nice
break from the extreme heat and humidity over the past few days but warm
enough to enjoy the water. I just wish I had half the energy of Megan and Casey.
