Paddling the
Jordan River

Page - 4

After are R & R time at Old State Road, we hopped back on the river and paddled down stream like so many little ducks in a row, one behind another with Jedi in the lead and Mark an Lois bringing up the gear in the rear.
We past a few others on our steady trek down stream. Like on a mission Neila took over the lead and the pace winding her way around traffic. The two above right were taking there time, floating side by side with the current for stability and conversation.
A few corners up a fallen tree had closed off all but a few feet of the river on a sharp bend. Sandy and Neila got a bit tangled up when they both reached the jam at the same time. Sandy, with the nose of her kayak stuck in the river bank mud and the tail stuck on the tree, had the passage blocked right off. And with Mark and Lois approaching in there canoe I worked to free up the jam and got them both on there way in a hurry.    Meanwhile Mark had got out of the canoe and was holding steady by the bank as he watched the circus in the jam. Lois was getting a little more use to the canoe and was having a good laugh watching us play in the mud. Then she made Mark walk the canoe through the small opening to avoid any of the problems she saw the other girls having here.
Once we were all clear of the jam and neatly headed downstream again we looked for a place to stop for lunch. Our own little fast food stop on the river bank.
