This area of the state host 90% of the waterfalls in Michigan. I had marked 30 falls on my GPS before I came up and that's not all of them. Some are right off the road, some a short walk, and others are hard to find and tough to get to. A two track just north of the Sturgeon River west off of Plains Road will take you real close to Tibbets Falls in Baraga County. A short walk along a trail leads you to the falls. Be careful there are steep rocky cliffs and loose soil. Slammer found this out the hard way. With all four feet pushing backward he slid off the edge and into the river!

Slammer had a great time exploring the rocks and getting wet while Neila sat in the shade and relaxed as she watched. I was climbing around the rocky cliffs looking for the best photo angle and playing with light settings. There's something about flowing water that draws one to listen and watch. Our second stop was the Agate Falls in Ontonagon County. Located on M-28 about 10 miles west of Keton. It's one of the larger falls in the area and is well worth the stop. Another short walk off the highway is Tioga Falls, a smaller falls on US-41 just east of the M-28 intersection.
